According to Govt of India, National Education Policy 1986, Education Trust/Voluntary institute/Autonomus institute have right to spread distance education and issue certification on behalf of Degree and Diploma.

Bhartiya Institute of Engineering and Management  was established in 1995  under the Sec 58 “1” of 1932 of Govt. of Delhi, Registration No. 3396 and also is a registered society under the Societies Registration Act No. XXI of 1860 (Reg. No. S-1850 of 2000) and is a non profit organization. Bhartiya Institute of Engineering and Management has covered innumerable milestones at different levels of its expansion. Bhartiya Institute of Engineering and Management New Delhi has been established in 1995 according to the governments act.Bhartiya Institute of Engineering and Management New Delhi is a member of Association of Indian Management School – Test for  Management Admissions (AIMS-ATMA). BIEM got the accreditation by KVQA (United Kingdom Accreditation Services) and NAB (Norway Accreditation Board).

United Kingdom and Norway Accreditation Board came into existence to improve and enhance the standards of distance learning institutions by the establishment of a system of ”. Its inspection processes are designed to support and advise colleges on improving their standards. BIEM is a member of UKAS, KVQA and NAB has been a Pioneer in imparting distance Education in field of Management, Engineering and all other courses which are a support function for these industries.
